We started mobile Munch because we believed Topeka's food truck community deserved to be seen, discovered, and celebrated. Two years later, that belief hasn't changed. But we've learned something along the way:

Showing up Does Matters.

And maybe, just maybe, showing up should come with a little something extra.

What We're Cooking Up: Munch Rewards (βeta)

When we first set out to create mobile Munch, we followed a simple philosophy: try things. Some work. Some don't. But we never know until we try.

Version 3.0 (dropping this March) is our latest experiment.

Introducing: Munch Rewards (Beta)

A super-simple way for local foodies to earn free food just by doing what they already do: visiting their favorite local food trucks.

How it works:

You show up. Roll up to any participating food truck at a designated reward location (i.e. Helping Hands Humane Society). Order your usual or maybe try something new.
You tap check-in. While you're waiting (you're already standing there, phone in hand), open mobile Munch and hit the button. It takes about three seconds.
You earn a point. One visit = one point. Progress bar fills (the feel good moment).
You do that nine more times. Over days, weeks, whenever. No rush. The delicious food isn't going anywhere.
You eat free. Tenth visit? Free entrée. On them. Heck yeah, you earned it.

That's it. No punch cards to lose. No complicated point math. No integration headaches for vendors. Just a simple "thanks for being a loyal customer."

Why Build This?

In full transparency...

We've talked to dozens of Topeka foodies over the last year. One question kept surfacing: “Are you planning on including ways to earn rewards through the app?"

We heard you. And we started tinkering as soon as the 2025 winter season started.

But here's the thing about experiments…. They're not guaranteed. We don't know if this will stick. We don't know if vendors will love it or find it annoying. We don't know if foodies will remember to tap that check-in button.

That's why we're calling it an experiment, better yet... βeta.

We're launching this in March 2026 not because it's perfect, but because we want to learn alongside you.

Your feedback shapes what this becomes. Your check-ins tell us what's working. Your patience when something glitches? That's what being part of a local community feels like.

The Bigger Picture

mobile Munch has always been about one thing: Elevating Topeka's local food scene.

Not competing with national apps. Not chasing venture capital trends. Just building tools that help our local vendors thrive and help our local foodies discover something delicious nearby.

Munch Rewards fits into that mission.

It's a small "thank you" to the people who keep coming back to the trucks. And a small nudge for vendors to keep doing what they do best, serving up food that makes Topeka feel like home.

And after that? We keep listening. We keep tweaking. We keep trying new things.
